Baboo Gelato

Viennese gelatiere, Annie Hanbury, founded her Baboo Gelato company in 2015.  Inspired by her love for concocting tasty and unforgettable ice cream flavours using the abundance of ripe fruit growing near her Dorset home, Annie has established herself as a master frozen dessert creator in the South West.

You will know Baboo well if you frequent West Bay, their Lyme Regis Kiosk, Weymouth, Morcombelake and Swanage and is personally always a stop point when going to the beach.

The Baboo Team recently had a new ice cream chest freezer wrapped in their iconic branding, as well as their Vauxhall Movano 35 to get its own bold branding.

THE BRIEF

New Site Signage

Baboo have been busy recently moving their operations to an upgraded unit in Rampisham! To take full ownership of their site they required some new signage displays including main business signs, goods in, goods out, roadside entrance signs, and parking panel signage.

The large stand-off lettering sign would be replicated onto the front and side of their building, but the cladded exterior needed to be navigated to allow for the fixing points in the signage to able to sit flush.

We conducted a site visit to get accurate measurements and talk design, size and budget for the project, all of which was signed off with artwork able to be supplied fully by the Baboo Team.

THE SOLUTION

Large-Scale Logo Signs

For the external signage above the entrance, and the rolling shutter door, Baboo wanted to utilise the space in a highly visible and professional way, opting for custom created stand-off lettering signs. This gives the entrance depth, whilst also being incredibly modern.

Firstly the ring of white ACM (Aluminium Composite Material) is fixed to the cladding, supplied in sections for easy mounting and positioning. The ACM backing board can then be mounted squarely in the centre. This has been wrapped in Baboo's warm brown brand colour to compliment the exterior of the unit. ACM is a budget-friendly but incredibly versatile signage option, one which is used for all types of businesses and organisations to create long-lasting branded displays, and can either be direct printed, or vinyl wrapped like the signage here  to stand the test of time outdoors.When vinyl wrapped we offer a great 7-year guarantee on the print as we know that the media we use is of the best quality, and is much more likely to be replaced or re-branded before the ACM wears out.

For the lettering, we take your design font or typography and cut this into coloured acrylic of your choice. Larger letters will be discretely drilled, whilst smaller letters like those here can safely be mounted using a very strong self-adhesive stand-off locator onto the ACM panel behind.

The new site is neatly tucked away with a joining car park to the rear.  To help staff, visitors and delivery teams find the unit and get their bearings on site, we used ACM cut to the clients dimensions, each individually wrapped with their design and mounted securely in the chosen locations.

We hope Baboo are now settling in nicely to their new gelato home. It was a pleasure to assist them with another signage project and watch the business grow!
