THE CLIENT
Found in Sidmouth, Devon, 14 Miles East is an independent café and bar that provides fresh, locally-sourced, sustainable food for both locals and visitors to the area.
Named after the distance between Exeter and the picturesque seaside town of Sidmouth, 14 Miles East is a charming, hugely-popular eatery that provides a relaxed, easy-going atmosphere for all its guests.
THE BRIEF
The client contacted the team here at Creative Solutions looking for us to design and install custom vinyl graphics for the windows of their Sidmouth restaurant. The artwork would feature the company name and logo—as well a ‘Bar and Cafe’ section using the same stylised block capitals font. It was important that the graphics were visually consistent with the restaurant’s existing signage.
For a local restaurant like 14 Miles East, window graphics are a great way to enhance the aesthetic quality of your premises and create an engaging, brand-focus display—one that’ll make potential customers walking down the Sidmouth high street take notice!
As a contemporary, independent restaurant, 14 Miles East were looking for an equally modern vinyl option for their windows. Creative Solutions offer a unique service that creates an etching effect on the glass through the application of high-quality vinyl. The advantage, rather than permanently altering your window, clients can easily replace graphics as their business evolves. These frosted etched-effect vinyls also offer protection to your glass, particularly useful in public areas.
THE SOLUTION
After liasing with the client, and finalizing the design of the branded artwork, we got to work creating the custom-made frosted etched window vinyls. The graphics would be applied on the inside glass of six windows in total—with some sections featuring the company name and logo, which had been cut precisely for a bold finish.
The beauty of frosted etched vinyl, as well as its contemporary aesthetic, is its practical functions. While the vinyl will allow plenty of natural into a space, it will also offer a degree of privacy. A useful feature for a diner wanting to enjoy their meal without passing foot traffic looking in.
The client was thrilled with the results. The print quality and cut of the vinyl graphics are superb; the restaurant logo looks stunning in its new frosted glass format—sure to attract a large number of new customers to the restaurant!
