Outdoor and Indoor Signage for Lyme Regis Golf Club

THE CLIENT

Lyme Regis Golf Club’s 18 hole par 71 course has stunning cliffside views of Portland Bill lighthouse and overlooks the historical town of Lyme Regis.

The Clubhouse, in view of the 18th green, is a great place to unwind after a round—and a perfect venue for birthdays, weddings, anniversaries or simply for a relaxing lunch!

THE BRIEF

With outdoor recreational activities rising in popularity in the current climate, thanks to a year of government-imposed lockdown, what better time for local sports clubs to think about updating and improving their outdoor and indoor signage displays. It’s a great way to enhance your business brand and attract new customers to your facility.

Indeed, Lyme Regis Golf Club thought it was about time for a signage makeover and got in touch with the Creative team about providing a range of external and internal displays at their coastside premises. 

Utilizing their current logo and the classically-styled fonts used on their website and other branding material, the Club wanted us to fabricate a main entrance sign, a men’s locker room sign, a stand-off lettering display for one of the external fascias—as well as two custom-made felt notice boards with aluminium frames. The important thing was to maintain a consistent brand theme throughout the products, while ensuring their quality reflected the very essence of the Club.

THE SOLUTION

We supplied the client with a 1600 by 300mm main entrance sign featuring the club’s logo at either end—and a classic Times New Roman font for the entrance display itself. The self-adhesive graphics were full-colour printed and applied to 3mm ACM 0.3mm skin board and finished with a matte laminate. 

Using the same font and logo, for uniform branding, we produced the men’s locker room sign. For this display, we again supplied a full-colour, self-adhesive print with a matte laminate finish. In contrast to the outdoor signage, where aluminium is a much more suitable material, we applied the 420 by 150mm print to 5mm PVC board.

For the outdoor fascia, we supplied 5mm TR6 light blue acrylic letters to create the LRGC sign—using the same Times New Roman font. The 230mm-high letters came with snapfix medium 16mm stand-off locators and template for easy installation and a contemporary, stylised display. 

As well as the indoor and outdoor signage, Lyme Regis Golf Club were able to take advantage of our extensive and varied range, and requested two custom premium felt notice boards with aluminium frames. Both boards came with a grey metal fabric and a class B fire rating for that extra peace of mind.

The client was delighted with every graphic design feature we provided; Creative were able to conduct a sizable signage makeover, keeping the branding and quality consistent throughout. Great work, team!
