FOAM-X® showcases a top-notch, rigid, low-density polyurethane core sandwiched between two white recycled paper liners. It embodies all the qualities desired in a lightweight, versatile foam board suitable for indoor applications. Commonly referred to as Foamex, Foam Board, or PVC Board, it enjoys popularity as a material for signs, promotional displays, and printed retail advertising.
Renowned for its lightweight, rigidity, and durability, FOAM-X® serves as the ideal substrate for high-quality UV digital printing.
FOAM-X® boasts a myriad of outstanding properties, such as remarkable stability despite its lightweight nature, superb printability, and smooth surface, making it exceptionally well-suited for a diverse range of indoor applications.
This versatile material finds extensive use in signage, exhibitions, interior design, PoS/PoP advertising and displays, model making, shopfitting, and printing. It can be affixed to surfaces through nailing, screwing, riveting, or adhesion, and can even be hung using hook supports or keyhole fixings. Please note that fixings are not included.
What is FOAM-X® (Foamex) used for?
Widely used for: security & safety signs, construction site signs, event notices, commercial property advertising, election/demonstration boards & plaques, cut letter signs, point of sale signs, free-standing display units, exhibition graphics, construction & safety signs, event signs, school, and college display boards.
What thickness of FOAM-X® (Foamex) should I choose?
We offer 2mm, 3mm, 5mm, and 10mm Foamex to choose from to offer the best range when it comes to your display use. Whatever thickness of Foamex board you choose, it is very light so it can easily be fixed wherever you need it – for example, it can be fitted to walls or hung from ceilings, slotted into frames, or A boards.
We've given a brief overview below of its most popular uses depending on thickness, however, if you have any questions about which one will be best for you, please do not hesitate to contact us.
2mm and 3mm Foamex Board is mostly used for indoor signs and graphics. We do not recommend it for outdoor signage and display as it isn't rigid enough to meet the changes in environment and weather it may be exposed to, however, can be used for very short-term outdoor usage for 1-day events and such. 5mm or 10mm thickness sheets are commonly used for Exhibition Graphics, and Outdoor Signage. It can be fixed to walls, fencing, or display frames like A-Boards, and can be screwed, riveted, adhered with high-bond tape or glue, or hung.
What FOAM-X® (Foamex) finishes are available and how long do they last?

At Creative Solutions we pride ourselves on our print quality, for that reason we run our printers as standard on 900dpi resolution. This is a high quality setting, which will produce excellent print results without banding, whilst allowing the printers to run at a speed to ensure we get your jobs through quickly. We use this print resolution across our Eco Friendly UV, Solvent and Aqueous machines. We have four roll-to-roll printers that can print up to 3.2m wide and two flatbed printers, one with white ink and gloss varnish, and a 3 x 2m flatbed printer for direct to substrate printing at speed.
We can amend settings to suit your requirements, and run at speeds of up to 60 sqm an hour for mass production where speed is a necessity, or we can print at ultra-high quality at far higher resolutions when the situation requires. Please feel free to discuss this with our sales team by email or on the telephone.
