External Signage for Dorset House, Lyme Regis

Dorset House is a boutique B&B in Lyme Regis. Boasting a 5-star rating, this delightfully-appointed accommodation is situated close to the town centre overlooking the stunning Jurassic Coast, a World Heritage Site. Dorset House has stood for more than 100 years and is a Grade II listed building with charm, character and a history all its own. 

THE BRIEF

Print and replace logos and signs around the property 

We were contacted by Dorset House during their re-branding, which was overseen by another agency. New signage was needed to replace old logos and indoor signs around the property to bring it up to date. Dorset House is a listed building, and so the signs needed to be like-for-like in size and colour to meet planning restrictions. 

The SOLUTION

Bespoke printing and expert installation 

The brief was decided during a meeting with the client. During our consultation, we reviewed colours and came up with final designs that the client was happy with. More than five signs were needed to bring the signage around the property up to date. 

Printing began at our plant in Axminster. ACM (Aluminium Composite Material) was extensively used due to its robustness outdoors. 

The brief was to print:

• x2 ACM signs. These were for the porch area and would be installed within an existing wooden frame. A Like-for-like replacement. 

• x1 Vacancies / No Vacancies sign. This sign would replace the old vacancies sign to reflect the new logo and brand colours. 

• x1 large ACM sign for the rear of the property: This would replace the old Dorset House logo to bring the building up to date to the rear. 

• Stand-off black ACM letters: These were to replace an old logo sign on an exterior wall. Black was chosen to contrast against the cream building. 

All print work was done in-house to the highest standards. We installed all signage in a single afternoon to minimise disruption and complete the project in an efficient manner.
