External Signage for The Harbour Cafe, West Dorset
PROJECT DETAIL
Creative Solutions were commissioned by the Harbour Cafe in West Bay, Dorset to revamp their external signage. The key brief was to increase the visibility and improve the appearance of the cafe when viewing from across the harbour. The signage needed to match the size specification of their previous signs in order to avoid planning issues.
The signage, manufactured in-house at our facility in Axminster, consisted of custom shaped aluminum panels wrapped in vinyl to match the Harbour Cafe's branding. Our graphic design team worked alongside staff from The Harbour Cafe, laying up the design work and providing digital proofs of how the signage would look when complete. 10mm acrylic letters were custom routed and bonded to the main panel to create a 3D effect, known as standoff lettering or raised letter signage.
In addition, an aluminium post mounted sign was used in the garden area to help promote the cafe and attract passing trade. The 3mm aluminium was wrapped in grey backed vinyl, with the wording applied in cut vinyl. Internally, window graphics were also printed and installed as part of the signage display.
The signage was printed and manufactured in-house before being installed on site by our specialist team.
