Facebook helps to make Internet World 2011 a success
The Internet World 2011 show, held on 10th-12th May, has been deemed a huge success by its organisers, with visitor numbers estimated at over 11,000.
United Business Media's Internet World 2011 took place at Earls Court 2 last month, attracting thousands of attendees and hundreds of high-profile exhibitors from the industry, the majority of whom have re-booked. In fact, organisers UBM have reported that a record 90 per cent of this year's exhibitors are booked in again to appear at Internet World 2012.
Topping this year's prestigious line-up was the social networking site Facebook, which appeared as an exhibitor, speaker and sponsor of the event. As well as holding prominent display stands on the exhibition floor, Facebook representatives conducted numerous practical workshops and delivered a Keynote speech in which the site's agenda for the next year was laid out. The site, as a key attraction of Internet World 2011, also sponsored the Social Media Gurus feature.
Sinead O'Grada, who is a marketing manager for the social networking site, commented on Facebook's star appearance at Internet World 2011, saying:
"We found exhibiting at Internet World a great success in terms of meeting businesses and agencies to talk about how to grow their brands with us,"
