New Signage and Logo for Hart’s Delights
We were approached by the owner of Hart’s Delight with little more than a business name and a brief description about the type of operation they were hoping to run: a luxury coffee and ‘treat’ unit for dog walkers.
The client had recently acquired a catering trailer and was in the process of renovating it. As part of the restoration process, they wanted us to create some new signage and brand logos for the unit.
The mobile food station would offer freshly prepared cakes, sandwiches and hot snacks— some of which would be locally sourced.
The brief was to design something that reflected the natural woodland areas in which the trailer would be stationed; organic, understated but also welcoming with an instantly recognisable identity.
With this in mind, I decided that a rustic, wooden look would be the best approach. For the logo, I wanted to create a natural aesthetic, something that felt authentic but with a playful and friendly essence.
I produced several options for the client, and made my recommendation as to which I felt best fit the brief. Once we had agreed on a final design, I set to work manufacturing the new signage.
To add to the natural effect, I produced a texture which enabled the logo to appear as if it had been painted directly on to the wood. I used this technique for the rest of the text and icons.
I came up with the straplines that were used around the trailer. These played on the Hart’s/hearts name and reinforcing the idea that there were delights on offer. Again, I opted for subtle typefaces which created a friendly, approachable brand presence.
