Event Signage for River Cottage

THE CLIENT

The passion project of renowned chef Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall, River Cottage HQ sits happily on the Devon and Dorset border in Bridport. It’s the home to a prestigious cookery and chefs' school, while also the setting for numerous unique dining experiences and unforgettable events. Just down the road, in Axminster town centre, you’ll also find the award-winning River Cottage Kitchen—a delightfully casual cafe and restaurant. 

River Cottage principles are based on food integrity, as well as the importance of local and seasonal produce. Their aim is to share these ideals with the tens of thousands of visitors who descend on the site throughout the year.

THE BRIEF

We were contacted by the good folk at River Cottage recently with a request to design and create some high-quality signage for an upcoming food event taking place at their Devon headquarters.

River Cottage wanted us to incorporate their iconic branding and logo into a sharp, visually engaging sign. One that potential attendees to the event could interact with, quickly absorbing the information displayed. The printers were primed for action!

THE SOLUTION

We provided the client with 8 full-colour direct printed Correx boards; each of the signs would be 4mm thick, 813mm wide, and 610mm in height. 

Correx boards are a fantastic, versatile signage option, one that won’t create a huge dent in your budget. It’s a material that combines both rigid and lightweight properties, meaning that it can be installed anywhere using a number of different methods: glue, tape, screws, nails—whatever the environment requires. We can print any design or image onto the board in stunning high-definition, while customers can feel reassured that the product is both weatherproof and fade and scratch-resistant. 

River Cottage were very happy with the signage provided. The high-quality printed boards more than serves their purpose as an effective and aesthetically strong promotional device. The vibrant yellow really pops against the blue background and the text is both striking and clear. Almost good enough to eat!
