New Technical Centre Signage for Hewland Engineering

Taking over a new unit in Southam, Warwickshire, the Hewland Engineering team now has a fully decked-out space for its new Technical Centre, with striking fabricated 3D lettering and new plaza-style external entrance signage.

The installation also included a full internal flat-panel ACM signage package, equipment stickers and more to get the unit up and running.

We have had the pleasure of working with Hewland Engineering across their signage projects since 2023, homing their displays to showcase their brand through the best possible tailored signage solutions.

Hewland has been a trusted provider of complete transmission solutions and precision components for over 60 years. Working with top-tier companies across diverse industries, they leverage their expertise in design, test, development, manufacturing and assembly to rapidly deliver full-scale projects. Their offerings cater to a wide array of sectors, including motorsport, high-performance automotive, aerospace, and commercial, in both EV and ICE applications.

Now in a time of expansion, the team have taken over a new unit in Southam which will become a dedicated Technical Centre. We worked with the team to create a full signage package to dress the new site with the well-known Hewland branding.

Transforming Spaces

Recently, we undertook a comprehensive site signage project with Hewland Engineering that showcased our expertise in design, fabrication, and installation. This project included fabricated steel 3D letters, ACM panel signage, a fabricated plaza-style sign tray on posts, and an ACM panel sign with 3D mounted acrylic letters and logo. Here’s an inside look at how we brought this vision to life.

Our client wanted to revitalise their site with distinctive and cohesive signage that not only enhanced visibility but also reinforced their brand identity. After thorough consultations and site assessments, we developed a tailored signage strategy that encompassed various types of signs, each serving a specific purpose.

Fabricated Steel 3D Letters

The first step was creating the fabricated steel 3D built-up letters. These letters were designed to be bold and eye-catching, providing a striking visual impact with each letter measuring over 30 cm's and being 4 cm's deep. Using high-quality steel, we crafted each letter with precision, ensuring durability and a sleek finish. Each letter was professionally powder-coated to Hewland's chosen red RAL colour and quality-checked ahead of being packed for our journey from Axminster to Southam. These 3D built up letters were then installed with precision on the face of the cladded building by using a purpose made template, with each letter space evenly and levelled. This type of lettering sign instantly elevates the aesthetic appeal and ensures that the brand name stands out prominently.

ACM Panel Signage

Next, we focused on ACM (Aluminium Composite Material) panel signage. Known for its robustness and smooth surface, ACM is an ideal material for both indoor and outdoor signage displays. We designed and fabricated panels that aligned with the client’s branding guidelines. These panels were then printed with high-resolution graphics and installed in key areas to provide clear, professional, and weather-resistant signage.

Fabricated Plaza-Style Sign Tray on Posts

One of the standout elements of this project was the fabricated plaza-style entrance sign tray mounted on posts. This sign tray was engineered to be both functional and stylish, guiding visitors with ease while enhancing the site’s overall look. We used durable materials and employed meticulous craftsmanship to ensure the sign tray was not only visually appealing but also capable of withstanding the elements. ACM Panel Sign With 3D Mounted Steel Letters & Logo

The final component of the project was an ACM fascia panel sign featuring 3D mounted steel letters and a logo. This sign was designed to be a focal point, combining the sleekness of ACM panels with the depth and texture of steel elements. The 3D letters and logo were carefully fabricated and powder-coated a dark blue. The white wrapped ACM panel is the faced with the foamex backing supports required for each letter and logo piece to seamlessly conceal all fixings within the letters. Once mounted, this fascia signage style creates a dynamic and engaging sign that effectively captured the essence of the client’s brand.

The Impact

The completed signage not only met but exceeded the client’s expectations. The new signs provided clear, professional guidance to visitors, reinforced the brand’s identity, and significantly enhanced the visual appeal of the site.
