Brand new to Seaton, Slays Barbers! Slays opened its doors in early June 2023 ready to offer the local residents and visitors some of the best fades in the South West. With over 12 years experience in the industry working at other salons and offering a mobile service, it was time to make a base and set up shop.

THE BRIEF

Setting Up A New Business

Chris got in touch ready to set up his new barber shop  ahead of time, making the most important decision to make sure locals knew a new salon would be imminent! When competition is fierce, it is paramount that your signage stands out from the very first impression. Chris' branding definitely hit the mark with a a dark grey background and white, saloon style writing.

The project was going to entail his outdoor presence, with a new shop front sign, and some great window graphics for the large front window. But first we needed to assist with his logo.

LOGO RECREATION & VECTORISING

When a digital logo is created it can be as complex as you desire, however when translated into printed formats, proximity in lines, colours, file size and other factors may mean your logo will not come out in large format as you wish. We took Slays Barbers branding and recreated this into a vectorised format, making it much more workable in printed formats.  The whole idea behind vector graphics is that they derive from mathematically defined shapes – like lines or curves. Since you can extend a line or a curve infinitely without any loss, these qualities are inherited in vector files. This vector file can now be translated into any medium Chris needs, be it branded clothing, interior design, new window graphics, signage, large format print, neon tube lighting - anything.

SHOP FRONT FASCIA PANELS

For brilliant fascia panels that don't break the bank, we use a highly popular signage material, ACM (Aluminium Composite Material). Strong, lightweight and completely customisable, ACM can be cut to any size, easily fixed in place, and faced with either a direct print, or a vinyl overlay for full-colour vibrancy, longevity and ease of renewing in a few years time.

Our Long-lasting vinyl applications are then printed with your design, logo and artwork onto a high-performance vinyl with either a 1, 5 or 7-year guarantee. This variety allows you to assess how long the signage needs to be in place, if you have any upcoming plans to refresh your branding or vision, as well as be assured your sign is going to look great for years to come.

As the ACM will always outlive its vinyl application, it means you can re-face your signage time and time again without having to replace everything.

BESPOKE WINDOW GRAPHICS

For any business owner with available window space, window graphics are the perfect opportunity to use valuable branding real estate for added awareness, brand exposure and familiarity. At Creative we are to produce window graphics as bespoke as each of our clients. We host a full range of window films to cover all finishes and levels of opacity to suit your design brief, branding, and the length of time it is needed for both internal and external applications.

These can be digitally printed in full-colour for vibrant installations, or single-colour cut-vinyl creations.  There is almost no limit to the uses of printed window film.  You can also have multiple colours and types of window vinyl layered to create stunning effects. For Slays, Chris opted for an opaque single-colour cut vinyl creation, applied to the inside of the glass. Our window graphics vinyl has a strong adhesive that will leave minimal residue when removed. It is UV-resistant to fade and laminated for extra protection, it is also heat-resistant, meaning as the glass heats and cools throughout the day and year, the vinyl can adapt to these changes making it incredibly long-lasting.
