St Catherine’s Primary, Bridport - School Signage

THE CLIENT

St Catherine’s Primary school can be found in the Dorset market town of Bridport. The school endeavours to cultivate a positive learning environment, based on Christian values, in which children can flourish. 

St Catherine’s aims to develop in their students a strong sense of community and improve their social and relationship skills. 

By influencing their outlook and actions, they look to encourage the students’ sense of responsibility. 

Developing the children’s academic, spiritual, social and personal skills is a fundamental element of the school’s focus and children are never short of opportunities to pray and reflect throughout the school day.

THE BRIEF

We were contacted by St Catherine’s recently as they looked to improve the signage displays within the school premises. The brief outlined the need for two post-mounted signs and one wall-mounted; the displays would feature the school’s logo and some fun custom artwork which would be supplied by the client.

With a long history of providing high-quality outdoor signage for schools and educational centres, we were happy to tackle the brief head-on.

For a signage brief of this type, we would nearly always suggest aluminium composite material (ACM) boards. They are easily the most fit-for-purpose outdoor signage option available in our range. With its super rigid and waterproof properties, the signs can withstand all manner of inclement weather conditions. The product is hugely versatile and can be fixed to a variety of different surfaces.

THE SOLUTION

After the client had supplied us with all the relative content, including the school’s logo and the various slogans and artwork choices, our studio created the print and production-ready graphics, all of which would be cut to custom shapes.

We supplied one wall sign, complete with a custom-shaped top. The full-colour, self-adhesive print was applied to 3mm ACM 0.3mm skin board and coated with a high-quality matte laminate—to leave a stunning finish and create its vital waterproof properties.

The post-mounted aluminium signs were also custom shaped—and, again, the graphics were printed in full colour onto 3mm ACM 0.3mm skin board and finished with a stunning matte laminate. 

The signs came with three horizontal runs of small clip extrusion along their 1200mm width and were supplied with the necessary 500mm stainless steel clips to attach to the existing posts. We also provided M8 x 35mm square head bolts, as well as the nuts and washers.

We provided a full and comprehensive service for St Catherine’s primary; all the printing, manufacturing and installation of the signs were completed by the Creative Solutions team. 

The client was delighted with the product—the signs look superb in their new home. The cartoon graphics and playful font really create an engaging display, perfectly suited for a primary school. Another job well done.
